I have gotten into kpop, but I want to go back to jpop. I only know Sayuri in music. Is there any group/individual that I should listen to?

So if you like Sayuri (who is great and I really like her too), you will probably like the following songs or artists:
+ "Kawaki wo Ameku" by Minami (one of the many).
+ "Uso no Hibana" by Kuroneko
+ Pretty much everything by ReoNa
+ Maybe stuff by Yousei Teikoku (goth rock band with Yui Itsuki on vocals)
+ Kalafina
+ Tamaru Yamada

@Fandyllic same. There’s so many amazing artist from Japan. J-pop truly has some of the best music in my opinion.
Yeah, I don't get the hype about KPop... I guess people love manufactured music. I went to a Korean Tofu House restaurant and they were playing indie Korean rock and it was a thousand times better than most KPop.
Japan has the 2nd largest music industry in the world. They have some of the best session musicians in the world. There is so much variety, you can listen to only anison and you'll hear opera, ska, broadway, metal, R&B, punk, rap, and many other styles without having to listen to a regular JPop song.
The one thing you won't hear much of in anison is City Pop and reggae (alhough ska is very similar).
Me neither. I mean I listen to Red Velvet and some Black Pink since a lot of my friends like kpop, but besides that, kpop definitely isn’t for me.
Manufactured(?) pop is something that I don’t like since for me it all sounds to similar and even with indie(?) pop/rock you find this problem, but for me I don’t get that in jpop. Jpop has such a large variety and they’ve perfected selling songs without all of them sounding the same. I’ll listen to jrock and jrap on a daily basis(something I would never listen to in American pop), and I love it. Jpop just has such a variety and I love it.
Yeah, but through anime I’ve discovered so many amazing artist(mainly madkid), and I just love jpop.
No offense, but MADKID is basically a male idol group from what I can tell. I really do like “Rise”, tho.
It’s fine. I enjoy most girl idol groups, but it’s kinda weird how I do like madkid even though they basically, as you said, a male idol group which is not normally my taste. Yeah rise is good and one of their older songs change is good.
Another male idol group I like (I think they were an idol group) is Customi Z, so you should check them out. Sadly, they broke up recently, but they have a many songs.
What do you think?
