In my opinion, it is way better because most none anime cartoons are really not good. I mean there have been good shows, though not nearly as good as Japanese animation. What are your thoughts?
If you evaluate quality of animation, diversity of stories, voice acting talent, and almost everything else, anime has been better than American animation for at least 30 years.
Maybe before 1990, they were closer to equal and before 1970, American animation was superior.
There's like those few studios that get movies of such high quality that there's basically not much to compare to it in terms of quality.
But most series' are in a completely different style and generally american story telling is completely divergent to japanese or generally eastern story telling making the medium far different in terms of style and necessity as well.
Look, the number of recent excellent anime outnumbers the amount American animated cartoons that even exist and the ones that are most popular in the U.S. have pretty much crap animation quality and generally are all comedy.
Part of this is what Americans are used to, but much of it is stupid networks and studios not willing to take any risks.
FYI, not all animators on anime are in Japan or Japanese. But yes, maybe they are cheaper overall, but cheaper doesn't explain crappy quality on American animation.
