@Red Hood AKA Jason Todd He’s a genius. Yumeko doesn’t come close to Ed, and the other two are smart but I wouldn’t say they’re on Ed’s level of intelligence
Edward Elric, he’s the only character in this selection I’m familiar with and silly quirks aside he’s actually quite smart. He figured out alchemy when he was a kid, is the youngest state alchemist in Amestris, can do alchemy without a transmutation circle and was able to get God to admit defeat in a debate of what is truly important. Plus even after losing his alchemy abilities he still strives to understand it and help others benefit off of it
Every each on of them have an average intelligence? That's quite optimistic. Because OF COURSE all normal beings can just think as them, obviously.
I'm not dismissing Ed from being intelligent, but keep in mind that every one of them lives in a different world with different challenges and intelligence comes with many shapes...
To be honest, all this poll was about thinking who'll be compatible with Ed's intellect. He may be smart as other more intelligent anime characters, but seriously if I'll put Ed with L, Lelouch or Light- people wouldn't even consider it.
I only watched about 35 anime, therefore I can't find the righteous answer, tell me who'd be compatible for Ed.

Um, mabye senku
Edward
@Red Hood AKA Jason Todd i agree a lot with you first comment.
Finally someone agrees with me. Ty
Ed taught himself alchemy, constructed a theory for human transmutation at 11 years old, and is the youngest state alchemist. How is an edgy 12 year old that comes up with plans sometimes smarter than him?
Dude he read books to learn alchemy. He became the youngest alcumest bc he whent though the portal, which he didn't even mean to do. Also performing a human transmutation isn't even that hard, pu put water, blood, ext then use alchemy. What u talking about buddy???
The fact that he taught himself through books is irrelevant. He still taught himself Alchemy at 6 years old. If you read a bunch of books on something and learn all about it, then you taught yourself, and it’s not gonna be easy either. There’s also a lot more to alchemy than just drawing random shapes and a circle on the ground and maybe chucking a few things on it. I’m also fairly sure that Ed figured out the formula or whatever to human transmutation on his own too.
What do you think?
