I just completed the series, and I swear to God―I am overwhelmed! As I had previously opined, the animation is fluid and so realistic! The creator of Anohana did a good job picturising Shioshisio with its shimmering water, colorful slugs, fishes and the cave-like dwellings! And oh, the salt-flake snow!
I found the music decent. I know that people do not find it remarkable. I can understand why.
OMG the characterization!
All characters underwent a personality development. Hikari,Miuna, Chisaki―everyone! In fact, change and coming-of-age is are two of the most prominent themes displayed in the anime. As an example, Chisaki is afraid of change and believes that the relationships she shared with her sea friends mustn't change. She clings to her old feelings for Hikari despite showing clear hints of having fallen in love with Tsumugu.
Hikari is adorable. There aren't many tsundere boys anyway :3
You know what? I feel bad for Kaname and Miuna. Well, Kaname did kinda end up with Sayu but the latter, whose love seemed unconditional and rather pure, was just shooed away. I feel bad for the girl.
So, I would rate the anime 4.5/5
