A Herbivorous Dragon of 5,000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized (齢5000年の草食ドラゴン、いわれなき邪竜認定, Yowai 5000-nen no Sōshoku Dragon, Iwarenaki Jaryū Nintei; lit. "A 5000-year-old Herbivore Dragon Was Recognized as an Evil Dragon For No Reason"), also known as A Gentle Dragon of 5000 Years Old, It Was Recognized as an Evil Dragon without Any Cause., is a Japanese light novel series written by Kaisei Enomoto and illustrated by Shugao. It was serialized online between June 2017 and June 2020 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Kadokawa Shoten, who have published three volumes from February 2018 to October 2019 under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Kōichi Muro was serialized in Square Enix's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Gangan Joker from January 2018 to November 2019. It was collected in 5 tankōbon volumes. An original net (ONA) anime adaptation of shorts (14 min per episode) titled Shi Cao Lao Long Bei Guan Yi E Long Zhi Ming (Simplified Chinese: 食草老龙被冠以恶龙之名; lit. "The Herbivorous Old Dragon was Dubbed the Evil Dragon") by Studio LAN aired in Chinese on Bilibili from July to October 2022, with the Japanese dub airing on television from January to March 2023. A second ONA season has been announced, but no time frame for its release has been given.

A 5000-year old vegan dragon was living peacefully when one day a young girl showed up in his cave. She offered herself as a sacrifice in order to gain favor for her village. He played along as the great "Evil Dragon, the Demon Lord's Army Leader" in order to get rid of her. However, his little white lie awoken her hidden powers and his peaceful life suddenly ended.
