The Association of Japanese Animations (日本動画協会, Nippon Douga Kyoukai), known by the acronym AJA, is an anime industry group consisting of over 50 affiliate animation production companies established in 2002.
Notable events[]
In the past, they ran the Tokyo International Anime Fair (2002 to 2013) which was merged into the larger event called AnimeJapan.
Since April 2014, the AJA took leadership of Young Animator Training Project (若手アニメーター育成プロジェクト, Wakate Animētā Ikusei Purojekuto) an annual project first launched in 2010 by the Japanese Animation Creators Association and funded by the Japanese government's Agency for Cultural Affairs in order to support training animators. The project features a series of animated shorts produced by various animation studios each year. In 2012 it was renamed Anime Mirai (アニメミライ, lit. "Anime Future"), again in 2016 to Anime Tamago (あにめたまご, lit. "Anime Egg"), and most recently in 2021 to Anime no Tane (あにめのたね; "Anime's Seed").
