Attacker You! (アタッカーYOU!, Atakkā Yū!) is a 1984 Japanese anime series by Jun Makimura and Shizuo Koizumi published by Kodansha. It was produced by Knack Productions and broadcasted by TV Tokyo from April 13, 1984 to June 21, 1985 for 58 episodes. Despite the mediocre ratings in Japan, the anime achieved a strong level of popularity in several European countries, especially in Italy where the series has been rerun several times.
24 years after the first series, a Chinese sequel entitled New Attacker You (続・アタッカーYOU 金メダルへの道, Zoku atakkā YOU- kin medaru e no michi) was produced by Knack Productions in 2008 during the Beijing Olympics of the same year. Directed by Tomoharu Katsumata, the series aired in China for 52 episodes, and later distributed for Japanese DVD release.

Yu Hazuki is an ambitious and energetic 13-year-old junior high schoolgirl who moved from Tokyo to Osaka to live with her father and young stepbrother Sunny. She is very passionate about volleyball and dreams of one day being a part of Japan's national women's volleyball team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Despite her father's disapproval and her team's brutal coach, Yu develops a tumultuous friendship with her arch-rival, Nami Hayase, a former school volleyball champ while dealing with her crush on So Takiki, the captain of the Hikawa boys' volleyball team.

Taking place in China several years after the1988 Seoul Olympics, the Dragon Ladies team is about to disband after losing the championship. But with the introduction of three volleyball stars; Yang Ming, Nami Hayase and So Tachiki, and kung-fu champion, Woo Glin, the Dragon Ladies have risen back to the competition. In addition, the team scouts Yu Hazuki, who is in her rehabilitation training after breaking her Achilles' tendon two years prior.
