Bakutsuri Bar Hunter (爆釣バーハンター, Bakutsuri Bā Hantā) is a Japanese media franchise created by Bandai, Shogakukan and Toei Animation. It consists of a toy line that started releasing on March 17, 2018 and a Nintendo 3DS game. The manga series began serialization on Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comic, while the anime adaptation aired on TV Tokyo from October 2, 2018 to March 26, 2019.
Plot[]
In a world where unknown creatures called "bar soul" live secretly in the "barcode sea" that exists deep down in the barcodes around our everyday life. People can catch the bar souls by using a "Bakutsuri Bar Rod" and enjoy its Augmented Reality fishing. Totta Tachitsute finds such a rod upon his late father's grave, and his AR fishing adventure starts with his bar-soul penguin partner named Potepen.
