Chang Ge Xing (長歌行), also known as Choukakou (ちょうかこう) in Japan, is a Chinese seinen manhua by Xia Da. The series ran from April 23, 2011 until its hiatus in November 28, 2016 when the contract between Xia Da and the manhua's publishing company, "Summer Zoo" was terminated.

Currently, Summer Zoo still owns the rights to Chang Ge Xing and it is unknown whether the manhua will ever continue or not. However, Xia Da continues her work with the Chang Ge Xing side story webcomic named Shi Yi Lu (拾遗录).

Plot[edit | edit source]

The story follows the main heroine and protagonist, Li Changge, as she heads to Shuo Province under the guise of a man with hopes of raising an army in rebellion in order to kill the new emperor of Tang, Li Shimin, to avenge her family's murder during the Xuanwu Gate Incident. However, as a captain of the army of Shuo Province in Zhangzhou, she loses a siege by the Eastern Turkic Khaganate General, Ashina Sun, who takes her to serve him as a personal military strategist. Along her journey she gains many friends, experiences and hardships and ultimately abandons her plan for vengeance in turn for seeking the future prosperity of the Tang dynasty.
