Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (サイバーパンク エッジランナーズ, Saibāpanku Ejji-Rannāzu) is an original anime series produced by Studio Trigger in collaboration with CD Projekt Red. Based on the world of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, the series premiered on Netflix on September 13, 2022. Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, it blends cyberpunk themes with Studio Trigger's distinct animation style.
In December 2024, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners received its first manga series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, serving as a prequel to the anime.
Plot[]
Set in the dystopian, technology-driven world of Night City, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners follows David Martinez, a teenager from a struggling family who becomes entangled in the dangerous world of mercenaries, known as edgerunners. After a tragic incident and a chance encounter with Lucy, a skilled netrunner, David joins a crew of cyber-enhanced mercenaries. Together, they navigate the chaotic underworld of Night City, battling powerful corporations, rival gangs, and the ever-present dangers of cyberpsychosis.
