Danshi Kōkōsei no Nichijō (男子高校生の日常, lit. "Daily Lives of High School Boys") is a shōnen manga by Yasunobu Yamauchi serialized in Gangan Online. The series consists of 7 volumes. An anime adaption premiered in early 2012, produced by Sunrise. A live-action film directed by Daigo Matsui was released by Showgate in Japan on October 12, 2013.
The all-boys Sanada North High's student body features three good friends: the eccentric and imaginative Hidenori, the passionate Yoshitake, and the rational and prudent Tadakuni. When this close-knit trio isn’t in school, they’re usually coming up with novel ways to kill time, be it through inventive role-playing to simulate getting a girlfriend, deeply discussing the pros and cons of skirts, or a number of other quirky ideas.
Their stories are also made interesting by other colourful characters they know, such as their friends at school, the efficient Student Council, and various girls – ranging from dreamy strangers to violent sisters and ditzy girls’ school presidents. The series chronicles the humorous episodes and interactions within this group of high-schoolers.
In reality, they are just an everyday bunch of ordinary kids trying to pass the time, but who said everyday life couldn't be interesting? Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is rife with bizarre yet hilariously relatable situations that are anything but mundane.
