The wiki's mascot was originally created by Kasuga on request back in January 2008. She was created for the project when it was first called the "Wikia Anime Project (WAP)", used as the old Animepedia's mascot as well as the project mascot, came along with the project when it was renamed to the "Wikia Graphical Entertainment Project (WGEP)", still stuck with the project when it was renamed "Wikia Animanga", and she will likely settle down here on the Animanga Wiki.

However, during all that time, over two years, she has never been given a name. The discussion puttered out shortly after she was created and adapted for use on wiki.

I'm no good with names — probably a good reason why she never got one — any name I could come up with would probably be embarrassing to me and to the wiki and the mascot. So for that reason, I ask the community. Does anyone have ideas for a good name to give the mascot, a long overdue rite? ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman(Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 15:39, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

This site gives a list of Japanese girls' names and meanings. It might be of some help. -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:21, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Nao, Nashi, Nashiko, Motoko, Tamiko... hmmm... Midori? Personally I was hoping for a "Wikipe-tan" style name... ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman(Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 19:02, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
I see. Wikipedia has Wikipe-tan. Commons has Commons-tan. WikiQuote has Quote-tan. So for consistency, it'd need to be <something that suggests Animanga Wiki>-tan. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:10, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
Is Wikia-tan an option? Trying to include "animanga" might be redundant. Wikipe-tan was first used on Wikipedia as the mascot for their anime and manga WikiProject. This is pretty much Wikia's anime and manga project, so Wikia-tan, should be fitting, right? -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:14, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

maybe how about yume? Kunoichi101 19:59, April 11, 2010 (UTC)kunoichi101Kunoichi101 19:59, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
