Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃, Kimetsu no Yaiba) is a manga written and illustrated by Gotouge Koyoharu. It is serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump. It has been licensed for release in English by Viz Media starting in 2018. The anime adaptation of the manga was created by Ufotable, and aired from April 6, 2019 to September 28, 2019. A film is currently in production and is set to release in 2020.
Plot
Tanjiro is the eldest son in a family that has lost its father. One day after visiting another town to sell charcoal, Tanjiro ends up staying the night at Granddad's house instead of going home because of a rumor about a demon that stalks a nearby mountain at night. When he goes home the next day, Tanjiro found his whole family slaughtered by a demon scent detected by Tanjiro himself. Tanjiro's sister, Nezuko, was alive, but turned into a demon mysteriously. Tanjiro must join the Demon Slayers Corps. and change Nezuko back into a human. Many surprises in the anime series and manga awaits for him.
