Ninjala (ニンジャラ) is a free-to-play multiplayer action video game developed by Soleil Ltd. and published by GungHo Online Entertainment. Unveiled at E3 2018, it was released on June 24, 2020 for the Nintendo Switch. The game received mixed reviews, with many praising the multiplayer, gameplay and art style, but criticized the story mode.
A mini web-anime series was uploaded onto YouTube from March 30, 2020 to January 7, 2021 before the official anime television series adaptation by OLM premiered on January 8, 2022 on TV Tokyo.
Plot[]
In the past since the Meiji restoration, all the ninjas in Japan have disbanded across the globe, but continue to strive through their descendants who founded the WNA (World Ninja Association). They developed a new kind of bubblegum encoded with ninja DNA that allows anybody to perform ninjutsu, and founded the eponymous Extreme Ninja tournament named "Ninjala" to search for new recruits.
