Rent-A-Girlfriend (彼女、お借りします, Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima which began serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in July 2017, and has been compiled into 14 volumes as of March 2020. The series has been licensed in North America by Kodansha Comics, which will release the first volume in English on June 2, 2020. An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment is set to premiere on July 10, 2020 in the Animeism block (MBS).
Plot[]
In Japan, the lonely have a new way out — online services that rent out dads, children, even girlfriends. Kazuya Kinoshita, a university student, was recently dumped by his first girlfriend ever Mami Nanami. While coping, Kazuya founded out about the "rental" business, and gave it a try. The "girlfriend" he rented, Chizuru Mizuhara, made a strong impression on their first "date" and Kazuya rented her again. However, Kazuya strained their relationship and discovered her true self to be the opposite of the first impression he had. Despite the reluctance to meet each other ever again, they have too many in common and his grandma's affection to Chizuru forces Kazuya to keep the front.
