Shoot! (シュート!, Shūto) is a Japanese soccer manga series written and illustrated by Tsukasa Ōshima. It was published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine between 1990 and 2003 where the story is split into 4 arcs, and it won the 1994 Kodansha Manga Award for best shōnen.

The manga was adapted into the following media.

  • A 58-episode anime television series adaptation titled Aoki Densetsu Shoot! (蒼き伝説 シュート!, lit. "Blue Legend Shoot!") produced by Toei Animation from November 7, 1993 to December 25, 1994 on Fuji TV
  • A live-action film produced by Shochiku starring the J-Pop boy band SMAP as the main cast and premiered on March 12, 1994.
  • A new original anime series titled Shoot! Goal to the Future (シュート!Goal to the Future) by EMT Squared premiered on July 2, 2022, on AT-X, Tokyo MX, TV Shizuoka, ytv, BS NTV, and BS Fuji. Crunchyroll has licensed the series.

Aoki Densetsu Shoot![]

The story revolves around a boy named Toshihiko Tanaka, who has just started at Kakegawa High School in order to play soccer with his idol, Yoshiharu Kubo. Toshi's friends are not interested in playing soccer again this year until he convinces them to join the team. Soon, the team is entered into the All-Japan High School Championship.

Goal to the Future[]

Atsushi Kamiya is a former captain at Kakegawa High School and the world-renowned "courageous captain" for a famous Italian soccer team. Hideto Tsuji is a student at the same school, who seems uninterested in the now-weakened soccer team. Their meeting is the start of a new legend...
