Animanga Wiki

The Robbedoes person made a wiki for this one and was updating it and added it when you took it off. Why is his wiki bad? Because it only has 92 articles? He even added it here. If his can't be added, I don't think my other two count either :( --Imanie 03:13, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

The wiki I found so far:

Now as for detectivconan and detective-conan:

  • detectivconan supposedly has "92" articles and detective-conan supposedly has "40" articles
  • detective-conan was created before detectivconan according to the front page, both of them were created very recently by the same person
  • Both have bad links on their homepage pointing to detective-conan (so detectivconan ends up linking to detective-conan for the homepage)
  • Both wiki appear to consist primarily of articles poorly copied from another wiki without properly attributing the contributors. Pages include extra junk showing that the content was copied directly from the page text of the wiki page, it wasn't even copied from source so in addition to the junk added to the pages they are also missing information that was present in the original article. Usually these artifacts point directly to people copying from the page text on Wikipedia.
  • Other than bad copies with legal issues the two wiki also appear to contain junk which doesn't belong there, irrelevant content, the main pages even contained what appeared to be misinformation until I fixed it.
  • Looking at what I can find that wasn't copied from another wiki in a bad way leads me to question accuracy of the information on the wiki, as well as writing quality.
  • Frankly I also have an issue with the subdomain used.
  • And lastly, there is only one person contributing to both wiki, who was the one who added all the other stuff on the wiki.

When you add that last one together with the age and content quality, the evident situation is a poor quality wiki which will eventually become yet another dead wiki once that one person editing it decides they have gotten tired of maintaining the "content" alone. This is effectively the same situation as all the other wiki, except it just looks different because the wiki was created recently, all those other wiki on the list were once in a similar state. ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman(Local TalkAnimanga Talk) ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman(Local TalkAnimanga Talk)

Oh look, another one popped up overnight w:c:meitantei-konan.--Sxerks 14:06, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
Ok.. :( I will assume that this goes for all wikis. I'll remove my wikis too, I'm the only person really updating them and they don't have many pages either. --Imanie 16:18, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
Even better Sxerks, it's the same thing... and looking at the early edits we finally know exactly what the other wiki have been doing. It's not Wikipedia, every one of those wiki that appear to have actual content and that same front page have been taking content directly from http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/ without attribution. ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman(Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 09:40, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

someone is playing overnight, you are playing her tough Sxerks, stop doing such a stupid thing, only that the edits comming from Detective Conan World, you must gonna play around bossy and stuff with your

Oh look, another one popped up overnight bicause you can do that to. What's wrong with you for god sake, why do you must gonna leave everytime such a stupid comment!!. Reborn hase take the page of the author Akira Amano also from the Wikipedia and you can complain about the detective conan wiki's, than you are strange? —Preceding unsigned comment added by AC Conan (talkcontribs) 07:32, June 30, 2010

Copying the source of one page from Wikipedia under license and properly attributing it, or basing articles on Wikipedia content and improving it, is completely different from a bunch of wiki that blatantly copy the page text from a foreign wiki, don't attribute the people that started the content (ie: Plagiarize/Steal it/Violate the license), destroy the source of it, and don't attempt to improve it. Now as for the rest of the comment, keep it civil, I ban users when they can't keep discussion civil. ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman(Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 18:14, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Wiki[]

The Wiki should be Detective Conan World wiki because it has triple the articles and higher depth. --Almousawi (talk) 14:55, March 16, 2014 (UTC)

That's not part of the wikia network.  Staw-Hat Luffy  Talk  16:10, March 16, 2014 (UTC)

we can have links to external wikis, that's what the "other wikis" header is partly for.--Sxerks (talk) 17:43, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
I can make a new template which can have non-Wikia wikis, but Sxerks suggestion seems better. --Almousawi (talk) 18:49, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
